This piece of work was the result of a learning project using the Renderman 21 API, a practical study to get a more indepth knowledge on the underlying techniques of this render software. The implementation of the scene was fully coded with The RenderMan Interface Bytestream Protocol (RIB).
The object selected for the scene was a glass paperweight resembling the shape of planet Earth. Its simple shape, its glass material and the way it interacts with the light made it a very interesting object to work with.
Two full HD rendered images were produced with two different kind of HDR environment lights: one interior and another one exterior. The surface of the table was also changed to match better the properties of the environments for each case.
